Taj Mahal

In memory of relatives in far-flung places, this restaurant’s menu and decor evoke the simple flavours and traditions of Bosnia, with a couple of pages on the menu dedicated to traditional dishes. There is a focus here on vegetables as well as grilled meats (chosen from the restaurant’s own butcher’s), while a choice of simple cocktails is available alongside the wines. Situated in the heart of the old town, the restaurant gets extremely busy so booking is recommended. A second restaurant with the same name can be found in the Hotel Leno.

- Michelin Guide

This beautiful family restaurant is a breath of fresh, Eastern wind in the middle of the Mediterranean! The restaurant was opened in 2004., and since then it has impacted Dubrovnik in many ways. The history of Bosnia inspired the owners and now we have an opportunity to eat real Eastern food while in Dubrovnik!

Bosnia and Herzegovina's geographic position has made it a crossroads of diverse cultures and practices since the time of the ancient Romans. Through the Republic of Ragusa, the former Kingdom of Bosnia conducted trade with crucial factors in the Mediterranean. The Bosnian cookbook has the imprint of the Ottoman Empire and later the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which established dominance over the Bosnian land.

The staff is not only staff - but family! The importance of loving staff is major, just like the importance of making food with lots of love. The menu is diverse, made with the most fresh ingridients! The meat comes from the restaurant’s own butcher shop, and the veggies come from local producers. Don’t be a stranger to čevapi, burek, kebab, or baklava – those are the must-try meals when trying Bosnian food!
