On the beautiful island of Hvar, one family has spent generations preserving the rich traditions of their ancestors. In a small village nestled between ancient olive groves and rugged hills, they are reviving the old ways of life that once defined their island. By restoring their ancestral stone house, growing heirloom crops, and learning traditional crafts like weaving and pottery, they are reconnecting with a culture that dates back centuries. Through storytelling, music, and the passing down of knowledge, this island family is bringing the vibrant past of Hvar to life for future generations, ensuring the island's cultural heritage endures.

1. ISLAND LIFE EXPERIENCE

Imerse yourself in the culture and experience how our ancestor lived, cooked and handled life in general: make bread under the peka (an iron lid covered in ember used to bake and cook), learn how wine and oil were made, learn how to mends a fisherman's net, salt your own fish and most of all, the importance of the fire and the fireplace. Listen to stories about our grandmothers, their strength and family role. Find out how to dry figs, weave a sock, or scarf, experience the copper’s crat, ironing clothes the old way, and using herbs for medicinal purposes.

This is an expereince for all your senses. You will SEE inside of a traditional house and konoba and get familiar with traditional clothes of the Hvar people. You will LISTEN to stories from the past and fins out how to make a traditional bread under the peka. You will TASTE traditional food like salted sardines and olive oil. You will SMELL the amazing scent of Lavander, Sage, Rosmary and other medicinal herbs of Hvar. And You will FEEL under your hand the tools used in the olden days to work on the fields, in and around the house.

2. TRADITIONAL COOKING CLASS

This cooking class teaches you about more than cooking, You will get to dive into the rich history of Hvar with a guided tour, explore the world of Hvar sweets, and try traditional treats, like the Paprenjak biscuit, or local homemade syrups and drinks. The main star is a local dish with homemade gnocchi. There’s also and oil tasting, and much more. You will be thought by local women in traditional clothes, because women were a big part of a Dalmatian household. It is said that women held three corners of the house. Join us and see how our grandmothers made the most delicious meals using only what they have in their garden. The " no waste policy" was there normal policy.

3. ROMANCE THE OLD WAY -romantic experience for two

If you are an old soul who believes in romance, or have a partner that does, this experience is for you! Offer to yourself and your partner the night to remember. You will have a candlelit dinner under the stars, in a rustic kitchen or in the hidden care. Reconnect with your partner while indluging in the traditional island dinner. Enjoy the smell of the lavander and fall in love with your partner all over again. To enhance your experience, medieval music is offered additionaly. You can listen to baroque lute perforemed by local musicians and if you want to finish your night in style, an overnight stay is available.
